Supplier Development and Second Party Auditing

African buyers increasingly depend on local suppliers whose quality and delivery are not yet where they need to be. Rather than simply switching vendors, supplier development builds capability so the supply base improves over time. This course teaches practitioners to assess suppliers, conduct second party audits, and run structured development plans that raise supplier quality, delivery, and reliability.

What you will be able to do

  • Segment suppliers by risk, spend, and performance.
  • Plan and conduct a second party supplier audit.
  • Assess a supplier quality management system objectively.
  • Agree improvement actions and development plans with suppliers.
  • Track supplier performance against clear measures.
  • Build collaborative relationships that sustain improvement.
