How we handle personal information, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
BMC Training respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This notice explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices and rights you have.
Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us when you use a form on this site, such as an enquiry, a course registration or a brochure request. That is typically your name, email address, phone number and organisation, together with any details you add about the training you are interested in.
We also collect a small amount of anonymous usage data to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you as an individual.
How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and confirm course availability and fees
- process a registration and issue an invoice and certificate
- send you the specific materials you requested, such as a brochure
- improve the content and performance of this website
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send unrelated marketing without your consent.
How it is shared
We use trusted service providers to run this site and deliver your enquiries to us, for example our website host and the form delivery service that emails your submission to our team. These providers process the information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. Some of them operate servers outside South Africa, in which case the transfer is protected in line with POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is securely deleted.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
