Security Post Orders and Standing Instruction Development

Guards can only perform as well as the instructions they are given, yet many sites deploy officers with vague or outdated post orders that fail in an incident or a dispute. This course teaches security managers to write clear, practical post orders and standing instructions for each guarding position. Delegates learn to capture site specific duties, emergency actions and escalation steps in documents that guide officers, protect the client and stand up to scrutiny.

What you will be able to do

  • Analyse a guarding position to identify its specific duties and risks.
  • Write clear, unambiguous post orders that officers can actually follow.
  • Document emergency actions, escalation paths and reporting requirements.
  • Align post orders with client contracts and site rules.
  • Keep post orders current through regular review and version control.
  • Use post orders in briefing, training and performance management.
