Security Control Room Operations and Incident Reporting

A camera wall is only as good as the person watching it and the report they write afterwards. Two areas get attention: disciplined observation, radio procedure and shift handover on the one hand, and accurate occurrence book entries that hold up when an insurer or a court asks questions.

What you will be able to do

  • Maintain concentration and structured scanning discipline across a full monitoring shift.
  • Recognise pre incident behaviour on camera and escalate before an offence is committed.
  • Follow radio and telephone procedure that keeps a channel usable during a live incident.
  • Record occurrence book and incident report entries that are factual, timed and free of opinion.
  • Preserve camera footage and system logs so that they remain usable as evidence.
  • Conduct a shift handover that transfers open matters without loss of detail.
