Executive Protection and Close Protection Operations

High profile executives, visiting dignitaries and family members face targeted risks that ordinary guarding cannot address, from ambush on the school run to hostile surveillance outside a hotel. This programme covers protective intelligence, route planning, advance work, vehicle drills and venue security for close protection teams operating in South African and wider African travel environments, including liaison with SAPS VIP protection units.

What you will be able to do

  • Assess the threat profile of a principal based on lifestyle, profile and travel patterns.
  • Plan and execute advance work at a venue before a principal arrives on site.
  • Apply route planning and counter surveillance techniques to reduce predictability on regular journeys.
  • Coordinate vehicle drills, embussing and debussing procedures under time pressure.
  • Manage close protection team communication and formations in both formal and informal settings.
  • Liaise with SAPS VIP protection units, venue security and event organisers during an assignment.
