Security Personnel Vetting, Screening and Integrity Management

A single corrupt or poorly screened guard can open the door to armed robbery, cargo theft or an inside job that undoes every other control. This course shows how to build a defensible vetting and integrity process for security officers, from background verification to ongoing integrity checks. Participants learn practical screening methods that comply with privacy law while protecting sites against collusion and infiltration common in the African security industry.

What you will be able to do

  • Design a vetting process that verifies identity, history and references reliably.
  • Apply background and criminal record checks within privacy and labour limits.
  • Recognise infiltration and collusion risks when recruiting security staff.
  • Introduce ongoing integrity checks for deployed officers and supervisors.
  • Manage findings of dishonesty fairly and in line with disciplinary process.
  • Work effectively with service providers on shared vetting standards.
