Rail Network and Public Transport Security Management

Rail lines, stations and public transport interchanges move millions of commuters and carry infrastructure that is repeatedly stripped of cable and copper across Africa. This course prepares transport security teams to protect passengers, staff, rolling stock and lineside assets. Participants learn crowd management at stations, cable theft response and coordinated patrolling of extended networks where crime, vandalism and passenger safety all compete for attention.

What you will be able to do

  • Assess security threats across stations, lines, depots and interchanges.
  • Protect passengers and staff from crime and violence in transit environments.
  • Respond to cable, signalling and infrastructure theft on the network.
  • Manage crowds and queues safely at busy stations and interchanges.
  • Coordinate patrols across extended and dispersed transport assets.
  • Work with police, operators and communities to reduce network crime.
