Cash in Transit and Retail Crime Risk Management

Losses in retail and cash handling are rarely random. Route planning, cash centre design, staff vetting and the discipline of varying collection times all shape how attractive a target looks. Delegates work through risk profiling, armed response coordination and post incident support for staff who were present.

What you will be able to do

  • Profile the crime risk facing a store, cash centre or collection route using incident and intelligence data.
  • Reduce predictability in collection schedules, routes and banking patterns.
  • Specify cash handling controls covering tills, drop safes, counting rooms and reconciliation.
  • Identify internal collusion indicators in shrinkage, refund and stock adjustment data.
  • Coordinate with armed response providers, the South African Police Service and neighbouring businesses.
  • Arrange trauma support and structured debriefing for employees involved in an incident.
