Quality Function Deployment and the House of Quality

African manufacturers and service providers frequently launch products that miss what customers actually value, leading to costly redesigns and lost market share. Quality Function Deployment translates the voice of the customer into concrete design and process requirements. This course teaches teams to build and interpret the House of Quality so that customer priorities drive engineering, procurement, and production decisions from the outset.

What you will be able to do

  • Capture and structure the voice of the customer for a product or service.
  • Rank customer requirements by importance and competitive position.
  • Translate customer needs into measurable technical characteristics.
  • Build a House of Quality matrix and interpret its relationships.
  • Cascade requirements from concept through to process controls.
  • Use the method to prioritise limited design and improvement resources.
