Process Capability Analysis and Cpk for Manufacturing Teams
Many African manufacturers set specification limits but never confirm whether their processes can actually meet them, so scrap and customer rejects persist despite tighter inspection. This course teaches teams to calculate and interpret capability indices such as Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk, distinguish short term from long term variation, and use the results to decide whether to accept, adjust or redesign a process. Participants work with real production data to turn capability studies into practical improvement decisions.
What you will be able to do
Explain the relationship between process variation, specification limits and customer requirements.
Calculate Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk from production measurement data.
Interpret capability indices to judge whether a process is fit for purpose.
Distinguish common cause from special cause variation before running a study.
Recommend targeted actions to close a capability gap.
Present capability results clearly to production and customer audiences.
