PDCA and the Deming Cycle for Everyday Problem Solving

Many teams in African workplaces jump straight to solutions without testing them, so fixes fail and the same issues resurface. This course grounds staff in the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle as a simple, repeatable discipline for improving processes at any level. Participants run a small improvement through a full PDCA cycle and learn to build the habit of testing changes before rolling them out.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe each stage of the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle.
  • Frame a problem and set a measurable improvement target.
  • Plan and run a small scale test of a proposed change.
  • Check results against the target using simple data.
  • Standardise successful changes or adjust and repeat.
  • Apply the cycle to a real workplace problem.
