Measurement Systems Analysis and Calibration Management

Quality decisions across South African plants are only as good as the measuring equipment behind them, yet many sites lack a disciplined approach to gauge calibration and measurement system analysis. This course teaches participants how to run gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, manage a calibration schedule, and judge whether a measurement system is reliable enough to support pass or fail decisions on product quality.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the sources of measurement error that affect quality decisions.
  • Plan and conduct a gauge repeatability and reproducibility study on production equipment.
  • Interpret gauge R&R results to judge whether a measurement system is acceptable.
  • Develop a calibration schedule and register for critical measuring equipment.
  • Manage calibration records and traceability to recognised reference standards.
  • Decide when a measurement system needs correction, replacement, or additional operator training.
