Kanban and Pull System Implementation for Production Flow

Many African factories carry excess work in progress that ties up cash and hides quality problems. This course teaches how to design and run kanban and pull systems that let downstream demand signal production, cutting inventory and exposing bottlenecks. Delegates learn to calculate kanban quantities and set up visual signals that keep material flowing without overproduction.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the difference between push and pull production systems.
  • Calculate the number of kanban cards or containers needed for a process.
  • Design visual pull signals for a manufacturing or replenishment line.
  • Set up supermarkets and buffers to manage variation in demand.
  • Introduce a pull system without disrupting existing customer commitments.
  • Sustain and improve a kanban system using simple performance measures.
