Journey Management and Convoy Security for Overland Operations

Moving staff, cash, fuel and equipment across long distances exposes organisations to ambush, hijacking, breakdown and border delays on some of Africa's most demanding routes. This course builds a disciplined journey management system covering route risk, convoy discipline, communications and incident response. Delegates learn to plan and control overland movements so that people and cargo arrive safely.

What you will be able to do

  • Conduct route risk assessments covering crime, road condition and border points.
  • Build a journey management plan with checkpoints, timings and authority to travel.
  • Organise convoy formation, spacing and communication for high risk routes.
  • Prepare drivers and escorts for hijacking, ambush and roadblock scenarios.
  • Establish tracking, check calls and escalation for overdue vehicles.
  • Coordinate cross border movement and documentation to avoid vulnerable delays.
