Internal Quality Auditing for Management Systems

Internal audits are meant to find problems before customers or external auditors do, yet many are reduced to a box ticking walk around the plant. Auditing is treated as a skill: planning against the standard, asking questions that surface real evidence, writing findings that hold up, and following corrective actions to closure.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan an internal audit programme that covers processes by risk and frequency.
  • Prepare audit checklists drawn from ISO 9001 requirements and company procedures.
  • Conduct opening meetings, evidence gathering and interviews with tact.
  • Distinguish between conformity, nonconformity and opportunities for improvement.
  • Write clear findings supported by objective evidence.
  • Verify corrective actions and report audit results to management.
