Guard Patrol Planning and Foot and Vehicle Patrol Techniques

Patrols are the backbone of physical guarding, yet predictable routes and box ticking patrol systems give criminals easy openings. This course sharpens the skill of planning and conducting effective foot and vehicle patrols that actually deter and detect. Delegates learn route design, patrol discipline and the use of patrol monitoring technology across sites common in African guarding operations.

What you will be able to do

  • Design varied patrol routes that cover vulnerable points without becoming predictable.
  • Conduct thorough foot and vehicle patrols using observation and checkpoint discipline.
  • Use patrol monitoring devices and checkpoints to verify coverage honestly.
  • Detect and respond to intrusion, tampering and hazards found on patrol.
  • Maintain officer safety during night, remote and lone patrols.
  • Record patrol findings and feed them into shift handover and reporting.
