Eight Disciplines 8D Problem Solving for Corrective Action Teams

When a customer escalates a defect, African suppliers are often asked to respond with a formal 8D report but lack a disciplined method to produce one. This course walks teams through all eight disciplines, from containment through to prevention and recognition. Participants practise building a defensible 8D report that satisfies demanding customers while genuinely stopping the problem from returning.

What you will be able to do

  • Assemble and lead a cross functional 8D team with clear roles.
  • Implement interim containment actions to protect the customer.
  • Define and describe the problem using quantified facts.
  • Identify and verify root causes for both occurrence and escape.
  • Select, implement, and validate permanent corrective actions.
  • Prevent recurrence through system changes and close the 8D formally.
