Converged Security: Integrating Physical and Cyber Operations

Access control, CCTV, alarms and building management systems now run on the same networks as corporate data, yet many African organisations still manage physical and cyber security in separate silos that attackers exploit. This course shows security managers how to align guarding, electronic systems and information security into one coordinated function. Participants learn to map shared risks, run joint incident response and present a single security picture to executives.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how physical, electronic and cyber security risks intersect in a modern connected facility.
  • Map the network dependencies of access control, CCTV and building management systems.
  • Design a converged operating model that aligns guarding, technology and information security teams.
  • Coordinate joint incident response between physical security and IT functions.
  • Assess vendor and integrator risk where security systems connect to corporate networks.
  • Report a unified security risk position to executive and board audiences.
