Community Policing and Neighbourhood Safety Partnership Coordination

Sustainable safety in African towns and suburbs depends on trust and cooperation between police, private security, businesses and residents rather than any single force acting alone. This course builds the skills to establish and run effective community safety partnerships and neighbourhood watches. Delegates learn to coordinate patrols, share information lawfully and tackle the root causes of local crime together.

What you will be able to do

  • Establish a community safety forum that brings key stakeholders together.
  • Coordinate neighbourhood watch patrols and private security within the law.
  • Share crime information between partners while respecting privacy and rights.
  • Map local crime patterns and target hotspots through joint action.
  • Build trust between communities, police and security providers.
  • Sustain volunteer participation and measure partnership results.
