CCTV and Electronic Security Systems Management

Camera systems, access control platforms and alarm monitoring are only as effective as the design brief, integration and ongoing management behind them, and load shedding adds a layer of complexity unique to South African sites. This course covers system specification, camera placement, integration between subsystems, backup power planning and the governance needed to keep electronic security systems reliable over their operating life.

What you will be able to do

  • Translate a security risk assessment into a technical specification for cameras, access control and alarms.
  • Position cameras and lighting to eliminate blind spots and support usable evidential footage.
  • Integrate CCTV, access control and alarm monitoring platforms into a single operating picture.
  • Plan backup power and network resilience for electronic security systems during load shedding.
  • Manage service level agreements with installers and monitoring companies against measurable performance.
  • Audit an installed electronic security system against the original design brief and risk assessment.
