Behavioural Detection and Suspicious Activity Recognition

The most valuable security sensor is often a trained human eye that notices something wrong before an incident happens. This course teaches frontline staff and officers to read behaviour, spot hostile reconnaissance and recognise the early signs of theft, fraud and attack. Delegates learn structured observation techniques that work in African malls, offices, transport hubs and public venues without resorting to profiling.

What you will be able to do

  • Recognise behavioural indicators of hostile reconnaissance and pre attack planning.
  • Apply structured observation to distinguish normal from suspicious activity.
  • Identify signs of intent linked to theft, fraud, weapons and concealed items.
  • Engage a person of concern through low key questioning and verification.
  • Avoid unlawful profiling by focusing on behaviour rather than appearance.
  • Report and escalate suspicious activity quickly and accurately.
