Acceptance Sampling and Inspection Planning

Inspecting every item is often impossible, yet African manufacturers and importers still need confidence that incoming and outgoing lots meet quality requirements. Acceptance sampling provides a statistically sound way to decide whether to accept or reject a lot based on a sample. This course teaches practitioners to design and apply sampling plans, understand the risks involved, and set inspection levels that protect both supplier and customer.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the purpose and logic of acceptance sampling.
  • Interpret acceptable quality levels and sampling risks.
  • Select sampling plans from standard tables.
  • Read and use operating characteristic curves.
  • Apply single and double sampling plans correctly.
  • Decide when sampling is appropriate versus full inspection.
