Writing and Presenting Feasibility Studies and Options Papers

Organisations across Africa commission feasibility studies and options papers before committing to projects, sites or investments, yet many such documents fail to give leaders a defensible basis to choose. This course teaches analysts and managers to research, structure and write feasibility studies and options papers that compare alternatives fairly and lead to sound, well documented decisions.

What you will be able to do

  • Frame the question and criteria a feasibility study must answer.
  • Gather and organise evidence on technical, financial and other factors.
  • Compare options fairly against consistent, transparent criteria.
  • Present findings and a recommendation leaders can defend.
  • Set out assumptions, limitations and risks honestly.
  • Present the study clearly to decision makers and stakeholders.
