Workplace Mediation and Conflict Resolution for HR Practitioners

Most workplace conflicts never need a hearing if they are handled early and well. This programme equips HR practitioners to mediate disputes between employees and teams, defusing tension before it hardens into grievances or resignations. It uses African workplace scenarios involving diverse teams, cultural misunderstandings and power imbalances, and gives delegates a practical mediation process they can apply immediately.

What you will be able to do

  • Recognise the sources and early signs of workplace conflict.
  • Explain the difference between mediation and formal grievance routes.
  • Apply a structured mediation process from opening to agreement.
  • Use active listening and reframing to shift entrenched positions.
  • Manage power imbalances and cultural differences in disputes.
  • Reach and record durable agreements between parties.
