Welding and Fabrication Repair for Maintenance Teams

What you will be able to do

  • Select the appropriate welding process for a given repair task and base material.
  • Prepare joints, edges and fit up to produce sound and repeatable welds.
  • Control distortion and residual stress during structural and plate repairs.
  • Identify common weld defects and their causes during visual inspection.
  • Fabricate simple replacement parts from drawings and site measurements.
  • Apply safe practice for hot work, ventilation and gas handling in the workshop.
