Shutdown, Turnaround and Outage Management

A shutdown that overruns costs production, credibility and budget, usually in that order. Scope control, work list freezing, contractor coordination, safety governance and start up planning are covered so that an outage finishes on the promised day and hands the plant back in a fit condition.

What you will be able to do

  • Define shutdown objectives and set a scope challenge process that keeps the work list defensible.
  • Build a shutdown schedule with realistic durations, logic links and a clear critical path.
  • Estimate shutdown cost and resource requirements before commitments are made.
  • Coordinate contractors on site through clear scopes, induction, supervision and interface management.
  • Apply permit to work, isolation and lock out discipline across a congested worksite.
  • Plan the start up and post shutdown review so that lessons are captured for the next outage.
