Water Stewardship and Supply Risk Management

Municipal supply failures and drought restrictions now interrupt production as often as electricity does. Delegates learn to measure and reduce water use, plan storage and reuse, and hold suppliers and municipalities to account on quality and continuity across a multi site operation.

What you will be able to do

  • Map water flows through a site and identify where the largest losses occur.
  • Calculate water intensity per unit of production and set a reduction target against it.
  • Assess supply risk from municipal interruption, restriction levels and infrastructure failure.
  • Specify storage, treatment and reuse options appropriate to the site's water quality requirements.
  • Apply the licensing and discharge obligations that govern abstraction and effluent.
  • Prepare a site water contingency plan covering short outages and extended restrictions.
