Solar, Wheeling and Alternative Power Procurement

Rooftop solar, a wheeling agreement with an independent producer, or a straight tariff renegotiation: each one changes your cost per kilowatt hour differently. Sessions run through sizing, payback arithmetic, procurement models and the municipal and Eskom connection questions that decide whether a project is viable.

What you will be able to do

  • Size a solar installation against a measured site load profile rather than a supplier estimate.
  • Compare capital purchase, lease and power purchase agreement structures on total cost over the asset life.
  • Explain how wheeling moves energy from a remote generator across the network to your meter.
  • Interrogate a supplier proposal on yield assumptions, degradation, performance guarantees and maintenance obligations.
  • Work through grid connection, embedded generation registration and metering requirements with the relevant authority.
  • Evaluate a project using payback, internal rate of return and sensitivity to tariff increases.
