Water Efficiency, Reuse and Rainwater Harvesting for Facilities

With many African cities facing restrictions and rising tariffs, reducing water demand at the site level is now a business priority as much as an environmental one. This practical programme helps facilities and operations teams measure water use, cut waste and design cost effective reuse and harvesting systems. Delegates leave with the skills to build a water saving plan that protects operations against supply shocks.

What you will be able to do

  • Conduct a water balance and identify the main consumption points on a site.
  • Detect and quantify losses from leaks, cooling systems and inefficient fixtures.
  • Evaluate greywater reuse and treated effluent recycling options for non potable uses.
  • Size rainwater harvesting systems for local rainfall and storage constraints.
  • Apply payback and risk analysis to prioritise water saving investments.
  • Develop a facility water efficiency and drought resilience plan.
