Vendor Fraud and Fictitious Supplier Scheme Detection

Fictitious suppliers, shell companies and manipulated vendor records let insiders divert payments while the books appear normal. This course shows procurement, finance and audit teams how these schemes are built and how to unravel them. Delegates learn to interrogate the vendor master file, verify supplier existence and beneficial ownership, and design controls that stop payments to phantom vendors common in African supply chains.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how fictitious and shell supplier schemes operate.
  • Interrogate the vendor master file for manipulation and duplicates.
  • Verify supplier existence, banking and beneficial ownership.
  • Detect employee to vendor links and payment diversion.
  • Design vendor onboarding and payment controls that hold.
  • Investigate suspected vendor fraud and recover funds.
