Fraud Investigation and Evidence Handling

An internal investigation that ignores the rules of evidence can cost an employer the disciplinary case and the criminal one. Planning an investigation, interviewing witnesses and suspects, securing digital and documentary evidence, and writing a report that survives cross examination are worked through using realistic case material.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan an investigation with a defined scope, hypothesis and evidence collection sequence.
  • Secure documentary, digital and physical evidence while maintaining a defensible chain of custody.
  • Conduct witness and suspect interviews using a structured, non coercive questioning method.
  • Respect employee rights and privacy obligations when accessing devices, emails and personal data.
  • Reconstruct a scheme through financial records, system logs and third party confirmations.
  • Compile an investigation report and evidence bundle that supports both disciplinary and criminal action.
