Ultrasonic Leak Detection and Acoustic Monitoring

Compressed air, steam and gas leaks quietly waste energy and money on almost every African industrial site. This practical programme trains technicians to use ultrasonic instruments to find leaks, check steam traps and detect early bearing and electrical faults by sound. Delegates learn to turn survey findings into a costed repair list that management will act on.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how ultrasonic instruments detect leaks and mechanical faults.
  • Survey compressed air and gas systems to locate and grade leaks.
  • Check steam traps and valves for passing using acoustic methods.
  • Detect early bearing wear and electrical discharge by sound.
  • Estimate the energy and cost impact of detected leaks.
  • Compile survey reports and prioritised repair lists.
