Transport Operations Management and Dispatch Control

Builds the day to day discipline needed to run a busy South African transport desk, from load allocation to proof of delivery. Participants learn how to plan trips, allocate drivers and vehicles, and keep customers informed when delays hit. The programme is grounded in local realities such as load shedding, port congestion at Durban and Cape Town, and the pressure of tight delivery windows.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan and allocate daily trips against available vehicles, drivers and delivery windows.
  • Coordinate dispatch, loading and departure to reduce turnaround time at the depot.
  • Track vehicles in transit and communicate delays clearly to customers and managers.
  • Manage proof of delivery, trip sheets and returns paperwork accurately.
  • Handle breakdowns, reroutes and driver queries calmly during the shift.
  • Measure dispatch performance and identify recurring bottlenecks to fix.
