Fleet Cost, Utilisation and Replacement Planning

Fleet budgets are often managed on fuel spend alone while depreciation, tyres, downtime and idle assets quietly cost more. Cost per kilometre modelling, total cost of ownership, replacement cycle decisions, utilisation measurement and the case for owning against leasing, using South African cost assumptions.

What you will be able to do

  • Calculate cost per kilometre and cost per operating hour for each vehicle class.
  • Build a total cost of ownership model covering finance, fuel, tyres, maintenance and residual value.
  • Measure utilisation and identify vehicles that no longer earn their place in the fleet.
  • Determine replacement cycles using cost, downtime and resale evidence.
  • Compare purchase, full maintenance lease and rental options for a defined operation.
  • Present a fleet budget and capital replacement plan to executive management.
