Trackless Mobile Machinery Safety and Collision Management

Diesel machines and pedestrians share the same underground roadways, and the consequences of getting that interaction wrong are fatal. Traffic management planning, proximity detection, braking and parking standards, operator selection and licensing, and the maintenance regime that keeps trackless equipment fit for use.

What you will be able to do

  • Build a traffic management plan covering pedestrian, light vehicle and machine interaction.
  • Specify proximity detection and collision avoidance requirements for a given fleet.
  • Set braking, parking and visibility standards and test them on commissioning.
  • Manage operator selection, medical fitness, training records and site licensing.
  • Plan roadway design, tipping points and loading areas to reduce interaction risk.
  • Investigate machine related incidents and close out engineering and behavioural causes.
