Textile, Leather and Fabric Quality Testing

This course covers the laboratory evaluation of textiles, leather and finished garments for strength, colourfastness, composition and comfort. Delegates learn conditioning, physical and chemical test methods and how to interpret results to support manufacturing quality and buyer specifications.

What you will be able to do

  • Condition and prepare textile and leather samples for testing.
  • Measure tensile, tear and seam strength of fabrics and leather.
  • Assess colourfastness to washing, rubbing and light exposure.
  • Determine fibre composition, mass and dimensional stability.
  • Evaluate comfort properties such as absorbency and abrasion.
  • Report textile results against buyer and product specifications.
