Sustainable Event Management and Green Conferencing

Conferences, exhibitions and corporate functions generate waste, energy use and travel emissions that increasingly conflict with organisations' sustainability commitments. This programme equips event and marketing teams to plan and deliver events that reduce environmental impact while still impressing delegates. Participants learn to set targets, manage suppliers and measure the footprint of the events they run.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the main environmental impacts of events, from travel to catering and waste.
  • Set practical sustainability targets and criteria for an event.
  • Select venues, caterers and suppliers using green procurement questions.
  • Reduce single use materials, food waste and energy use during events.
  • Estimate the carbon footprint of an event and communicate it credibly.
  • Produce a sustainable event plan and post event impact review.
