Storage Tank Inspection, Maintenance and Integrity Management

Storage tanks holding fuel, water, chemicals and process liquids are major assets on African industrial, fuel and utility sites, and their failure can be costly and hazardous. This programme covers the inspection and maintenance of atmospheric and low pressure tanks, including shells, floors, roofs and fittings. Delegates learn to spot deterioration early and plan repairs that keep tanks in safe, serviceable condition.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the main tank types, components and common failure mechanisms.
  • Plan and carry out external and in service tank inspections.
  • Recognise corrosion, settlement, distortion and coating breakdown.
  • Assess tank floors, shells and roofs for integrity concerns.
  • Maintain tank fittings, vents, valves and cathodic protection.
  • Prepare tanks safely for cleaning, entry and repair work.
