Steam Trap Survey and Condensate System Management

Failed steam traps silently blow live steam or waterlog systems, wasting large amounts of energy on African factories, mills and hospitals. This programme trains maintenance and energy staff to survey, test and maintain steam traps and manage condensate recovery. Delegates learn to quantify the losses from failed traps and build a survey routine that protects both energy and process performance.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how steam traps work and the impact of trap failure.
  • Survey and test steam traps using acoustic and temperature methods.
  • Select the correct trap type for each application.
  • Maintain and replace traps and improve condensate recovery.
  • Estimate the energy and cost losses from failed traps.
  • Establish a recurring steam trap survey and repair programme.
