Solar PV System Design and Installation Supervision

Rooftop and ground mounted solar is spreading rapidly across African commercial and industrial sites, yet poorly designed installations underperform and create safety hazards. This practical programme covers sizing, component selection, layout and installation oversight for grid tied and hybrid photovoltaic systems. Delegates learn to read site conditions, specify quality equipment and supervise contractors so that projects deliver the yield and safety expected.

What you will be able to do

  • Assess a site for shading, roof capacity, orientation and available connection points.
  • Size photovoltaic arrays, inverters and cabling for commercial and industrial loads.
  • Select quality panels, inverters, mounting and protection components suited to local conditions.
  • Interpret single line diagrams and layout drawings for a compliant installation.
  • Supervise installation, testing and commissioning against a defined quality checklist.
  • Recognise common design and workmanship faults that reduce yield or create hazards.
