Self Contained Self Rescuer and Lamp Room Management

The lamp room is a critical safety hub where cap lamps, gas monitors and self contained self rescuers are issued, charged and tracked. This programme equips lamp room and safety teams to manage these life saving devices, from daily checks to failure investigation. Delegates learn to run a disciplined issue and return system that supports underground accountability.

What you will be able to do

  • Manage the issue, return and tracking of self rescuers and cap lamps.
  • Inspect and test self contained self rescuers for readiness and defects.
  • Operate charging, storage and maintenance routines in the lamp room.
  • Maintain accountability systems that confirm who is underground.
  • Investigate device failures and remove unsafe units from service.
  • Train workers on correct donning and use of self rescuers.
