Scrum Master Fundamentals for Project Teams

Many South African teams say they are doing scrum while quietly running the same old command and control project underneath. This practical course teaches the scrum master role as it is really meant to work, facilitating events, removing obstacles and protecting the team, so delivery genuinely improves. It is grounded in local team realities rather than idealised examples from large technology firms.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the scrum framework, its roles, events and artefacts in plain terms.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives that add value.
  • Coach a team toward self-organisation instead of managing every task.
  • Identify and remove the obstacles that slow a team down.
  • Manage a product backlog and support realistic sprint commitments.
  • Adapt scrum sensibly for teams that also carry non-project operational work.
