Rheology and Viscosity Measurement for Product Development

This course equips formulators and analysts to measure and interpret the flow and deformation behaviour of paints, foods, cosmetics, adhesives and industrial fluids. Delegates learn rotational and oscillatory rheometry, viscometry and how rheological data guides formulation, processing and stability decisions in the laboratory.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain viscosity, yield stress and viscoelasticity in practical terms.
  • Operate rotational viscometers and rheometers for routine testing.
  • Design flow and oscillation experiments for complex fluids.
  • Interpret flow curves, amplitude sweeps and frequency sweeps.
  • Relate rheological behaviour to formulation and processing outcomes.
  • Establish repeatable test methods and acceptance criteria.
