Project Management for Water and Sanitation Infrastructure

Water and sanitation projects sit at the heart of service delivery across Africa, combining engineering complexity with intense community and political attention. This course applies project management to the full cycle of water and sanitation infrastructure, from feasibility through commissioning. Delegates learn to balance technical delivery with the community engagement these projects demand.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan water and sanitation projects from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate the design, civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines involved.
  • Manage community engagement and expectations around water access.
  • Address environmental approvals and water use authorisations in the schedule.
  • Manage contractors and quality on dispersed pipeline and treatment works.
  • Plan commissioning and handover to the operating authority for lasting service.
