Project Management for Mining and Resources Projects

Mining and resources projects combine long lead time capital equipment, remote sites, community and regulatory obligations and commodity price risk in a way few other sectors do. This five day course applies project management method to feasibility studies, shaft and plant construction, commissioning and ramp up, with attention to the safety, environmental and community commitments that shape approval in South Africa.

What you will be able to do

  • Sequence feasibility, design and construction phases typical of a mining capital project.
  • Manage long lead time procurement for specialised mining and processing equipment.
  • Coordinate contractors and logistics on remote or constrained mine sites.
  • Integrate safety, environmental and community obligations into the project schedule.
  • Plan commissioning and ramp up phases through to steady state production.
  • Manage capital project risk against commodity price and regulatory uncertainty.
