Project Management for Information Technology Projects

IT projects fail less often because of code and more often because of scope that keeps moving and stakeholders who discover requirements only once they see a demo. This course applies project management discipline to software, systems and infrastructure projects, covering requirements management, vendor coordination, testing phases and go live planning within typical South African IT delivery environments.

What you will be able to do

  • Manage requirements gathering for IT projects to reduce late stage scope change.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors across a system implementation.
  • Plan testing phases, including user acceptance testing, within the project schedule.
  • Sequence data migration, integration and cutover activities for a go live event.
  • Manage IT project risk, including security, compliance and technical debt.
  • Plan post go live support and stabilisation before closing the project.
