Project Management for Engineering and Construction Projects

Engineering and construction projects carry their own rhythm of design freezes, procurement lead times, site logistics and weather risk that generic project courses skip over. This five day course applies planning, cost control, contract administration and site coordination specifically to South African infrastructure and building projects, drawing on the delays, retentions and variation disputes that recur on real sites.

What you will be able to do

  • Sequence design, procurement and construction activities to reduce float loss on site.
  • Plan site logistics, mobilisation and subcontractor coordination for a multi trade project.
  • Apply cost control methods suited to variable material and labour pricing.
  • Administer construction contracts, including variations, extensions of time and retentions.
  • Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, contractors and statutory approvals.
  • Handle delay claims and site disputes using recognised construction practice.
