Particle Size Analysis and Powder Characterisation

A practical programme on measuring and interpreting particle size, shape and powder flow properties across mining, cement, pharmaceutical and food applications. Participants explore laser diffraction, sieving, dynamic image analysis and surface area methods, and learn how sampling and dispersion drive the quality of every result.

What you will be able to do

  • Compare laser diffraction, sieving and image analysis for particle sizing.
  • Apply representative sampling and sub sampling techniques for powders.
  • Select suitable dispersion methods for wet and dry measurements.
  • Interpret size distributions, percentiles and shape descriptors.
  • Measure bulk density, flowability and surface area of powders.
  • Set specifications and control limits for particulate products.
