Office Management Operations and Systems

Office managers hold together budgets, suppliers, facilities and a team that reports to somebody else. This course covers the systems that make that workable: standard operating procedures, a supplier file that survives an audit, contingency planning for load shedding, and the difficult conversations that come with informal authority.

What you will be able to do

  • Document office procedures so routine work continues when key staff are absent.
  • Prepare and monitor an office budget, including petty cash and consumables.
  • Manage service providers for cleaning, security, IT and maintenance against agreed standards.
  • Plan office continuity around power interruptions, connectivity loss and building access failures.
  • Coordinate workloads across staff who report to other managers.
  • Handle performance, conflict and attendance issues that arise inside the office team.
