Municipal Internal Audit and Audit Committee Effectiveness

This course strengthens the assurance function in local government by building the capability of internal audit units and the audit committees that oversee them. Participants learn how to develop a risk based audit plan, conduct fieldwork that produces defensible findings, and track management action on prior recommendations. The programme also clarifies the statutory duties of municipal audit committees under the MFMA and how they add value to governance and clean audit outcomes.
